First off, the first 2 or 3 results in Google searches that are lightly highlighted are paid for, so it doesn't necessarily mean they are the best one's to go with or voted for the most or have the best reviews, it just means their company had the advertising dollars to put it there. So don't fall for that, thinking you're gonna get the best deal.

Before you start to build your web site, the first thing you need to do is decide what you need it for, what kind of content you want, and how many pages you will need. So get out a piece of paper and scratch out an outline real quick. And I say do it on paper, rather than typing up a document, because its easier to get creative with it and it also makes the visualization stick in your head better.  Then you have something to refer to as you are building it.

DECIDING ON WHICH SITE TO USE:
This can be tricky, because as you can see, they all say they are free. Although, some say additional things like "Free Hosting" or "Stunning flash sites" and my personal favorite "Build your own social network" which leads some people to think they can make their own personal "Facebook type" site for free. But just think about it, how is anyone going to offer you anything for free when it costs them for the hosting, as you are using their web space that they do pay for each month, and you are using the software that they purchased, which in some cases, may have cost them several hundred dollars or more, and they pay for the manpower to run the site, which in the case of Facebook is a couple hundred people. So how can they offer all of this for free?

ADVERTISING!
They place advertising on your site that other business have paid them for. In some cases, the advertising can be pretty annoying and obnoxious. So you decide to inquire what it costs to get that taken off and that can sometimes end up being a surprising amount. Only a few sites out there offer a month to month payment for this type of service. The same goes with hosting. Most of these so called FREE sites expect you to pay a whole year up front, which can end up costing you quite a bit. So, NOT FREE and not very fair if you think about it.

So now let us get into the actual building of the site.

After a little research, you find a site that you think is going to give you what you need, and you have check out the many template designs they have to offer, and you create your membership. Having never built a site, this is all going to be new for you, and most often, it's very confusing. So you start to read blogs and get answers to your question and you muddle through it the best you can, because you're on a tight budget and you're thinking you can save yourself some money by building your own web site. However, after a couple of days into it,  with nothing more than a basic template and a couple of pages that you figured out how to add test and a couple of images to, all you have to show for it is a site that is far from finished and an aching back and headache from squinting at the tiny text on the screen!

Yeahhhhhh that is saving you a lot of money, yup! Soooo, how much do you get paid an hour for work? And those 2 days that you just spent working on an unfinished product that still has you confused and is still going to end up costing you some money for hosting and a url (can't forget the fact that you have to purchase the domain for you company) has just taken 2 days out of your schedule, which if you think about it, has already cost you money and time.

If you aren't working a "Just Over Broke" minimum wage JOB, you are most likely making $100 or more a day. So for those 2 days, you have spent at least $200 already on a web site that you know is going to end up taking you at the very least, another 4 to 5 days, possibly more. And still, the finished product you will have is going to be a ready made template that you don't know the first thing about changing, and a page master that you have no idea how to edit or alter to look the way that you want it to, and a chiropractor bill to get your back into shape after stressing several days over the computer. And if you are like most Americans, you only get 2 days off each week, so that means this site is going to take you at least a month to build, using up all the free time that you have.

So tell me........ how is this new web site free?

Well, to be frank, it isn't. It has just cost you quite a bit, but you don't see that when you start out, all you see is that misleading text in the search engine results saying "Build a new Website for FREE!"

Take into consideration the amount of time and money that professional have invested to learn how to build web sites and ask yourself, would they do that if it was really that easy to build a web site for free? Of course they wouldn't, because if it was truly that simple to build a free web site, there would be no need for anyone to get a degree in Web and Graphic Design. I promise you, NOTHING IS FREE!!!

Do the your homework on this one folks, the math is easy for even a kid to figure out the solution. HIRE A WEB DESIGNER! Especially with so many out there now these days, the prices are competitive and reasonable, and I promise you, it will cost you less to hire someone than it will if you try to do it on your own.

If you have anymore question, feel free to ask me, I will shoot it to you straight!

Getting down to business in 3D

OK Bloggers, I've got a hot one for you!

Have you ever wished you could have seen the future of a successful company when it was in it's early stages and bought stock? Who would have known Starbucks would go nation wide when it was just a few carts on the street corners of downtown Seattle? And who saw Facebook becoming the major social network it is today? I remember when it first hit the internet and thinking to myself "This will never catch on" but 5 years later I was scratching my head and trying to understand what made it so big. MySpace was a no brainier, a lot of people saw that one becoming a major mover and shaker as a dating site, but who would have thought it would become a networking tool for recording artists and music?

So now when I see a new technological idea pop up on the web, I consider all the possible angles that it can be used for and I ask myself, "Is this one of those things that has the potential to go viral?" I consider all the possible ways that it can be used, and how many people are out there catching onto this, and will it be something that the end user will find personal pleasure or functional use out of it. Then I ask myself if its something that I could see myself providing to others and building as a business.

I've been exposed to multilevel marketing since I was a young girl, having been the daughter of parents who built a lucrative business in Shaklee. My mother had even been an Avon distributor when I was just a small girl, but back in the 60's who didn't have an Avon mom? And Amway, what was that all about? Only to latter be referred to as a Network Marketing program and expanding their products and services offered to the public to attract the younger minds. Then I saw other businesses pop up with similar multilevel marketing plans, such as Nature's Own, Herbalife, and Nikken. Now, dont' get me wrong, I see the potential in many of these programs and companies out there, I'm just not sure I want to hold business meetings in my house twice a week and talk all of my friends and family into become a sponsor under me, or someone they don't know who is in my down line so I can help build one of their "legs" so I can get that residual income off of their purchases and productivity.

So that leaves me with finding something that I can do which utilizes my artistic skills, my business savvy, and doesn't cause my friends and family to avoid me out of fear of hearing me talk about getting them sponsored lol.

Our economy is ever changing, and nothing bad ever remains bad, because change always happens. Our struggles today will not be the same tomorrow, because tomorrow is a different day. So if we focus on the solution, rather than the problem, time seems to pass faster and we get closer to that solution and realizing the results of change sooner.

Are you following me here?

So to get to my point here, Social Media has really taken a hold on the internet as a way to market yourself, your product, or your company utilizing streaming data updates and open ID so you can log into one account and automatically be logged into several accounts, such at Twitter, Yahoo Pulse Profiles, and this wonderful Blogger site you are reading me on right now. One sign in, and you're good to go on everything with a clock of a button, without having to enter your password multiple times. You can even hook everything together so that what you post on one site can be "blasted" to all the other sites you have a membership with. Now who saw that one coming?

Now, let's take a look at advertising and consider how much time and money goes into creating a good advertisement, not withstanding how much you or your company invests in order to have that advertisement played on the Radio, TV, or the World Wide Web. Then there are billboards to think of for the local market, and web based billboards know as Banners to post on sites that offer something similar, and the cost that goes into that. Meanwhile, you are steadily Tweeting your updates to refer all you friends list, or followers to your web site, or your blog, in an effort to sell your wares.

Goodness gracious, that's enough to make anyone's head spin, and that's not even counting the time you still have to put into the regular work day!

Wouldn't it be nice to have more hours in a day? Actually, no it wouldn't, because that means your day would be longer and you would be working more hours in each day. So herein lay the rub... how do you increase your effectiveness, accomplish everything you need to do, and still stay sane without compromising something else, and still have some personal time?

I have the answer for you...

Osama Bin Laden is dead!!!

May 1, 2011

Bin Laden helmed the Al Qaeda network that executed the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and prompted the start of a war on terrorism that has dominated U.S. foreign policy.

"Justice has been done," says the president in a dramatic late-night announcement of the Al Qaeda chief's death, the result of a U.S. military operation.

Osama bin Laden, the face of terror, killed in Pakistan

By the CNN Wire Staff
May 2, 2011 -- Updated 0401 GMT (1201 HKT)

(CNN) -- The most prominent face of terror in America and beyond, Osama Bin Laden, has been killed in Pakistan, U.S. officials said Sunday night.

Bin Laden was the leader of al Qaeda, the terrorist network behind the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States. U.S. officials said that their forces have the body of bin Laden.

Osama Bin Laden Killed By Navy Seals in Firefight

Osama Bin Laden was killed not by a drone strike, but up close during a firefight with U.S. troops. He was not living in a cave when he died, but in a million-dollar mansion with seven-foot walls just 40 miles from the Pakistani capital, where U.S. forces killed him Sunday.

The U.S. had been monitoring the compound in Abbottabad for months after receiving a tip in August that Bin Laden might be seeking shelter there. He had long been said to be in the mountainous region along the Afghanistan, Pakistan border, hiding in a cave as the U.S. sought to kill him with drone strikes from above. Instead, he was in a house eight times larger than its neighbors, with a seven-foot wall and valued at $1 million. The house had no phone of television and the residents burned their trash. The house had high windows and few points of access, and U.S. officials concluded it had been built to hide someone...

My Thoughts:

I turned to my 8 year old niece and said, "Today is a day you will remember the rest of your life because today something very big happened." Her response was, "Yeah, it's May Day." Which made me think, did anyone notice that? Did he say May day before going down? Osama bin Laden is dead, a man who can only be compared to the likes of a modern day Hitler, responsible for the deaths of thousands? Does God forgive men like that? Did he even realize that he needed forgiveness? Or is this one of those cases where we have to wonder just how far the mercy of God will go?

The next question is, who will fill his shoes now? We know it will happen, this is true in every instance where one evil doer has been done in, another rises up to take his place. It is the nature of balance.

God bless America, because we sure need it now. Those left here who supported him will surely retaliate in some fashion. Maybe bio weapons? Who knows, but there is sure to be more that will happen as a result of this. So celebrate tonight, but don't get too comfortable, because the other shoe hasn't dropped yet folks.
